Columbus is the largest city and
currently the capital of Ohio State. It is the third
largest metropolitan area ( after Cleveland and Cincinnati).
It was founded in 1812 (named after a famous explorer, Christopher Columbus)
and became the capital of the state of Ohio in 1816. Columbus is the home of the major counties
(Delaware, Fairfield, Franklin) and Ohio State University. It is often referred to, as the "Buggy Capital of the World," because of the presence of several buggy factories and major manufacturing businesses.
