Dayton is one of the cities in
southwestern part of Ohio. It is located in Montgomery
County. The 2000 population census estimated its population
to be about 166,000. The Dayton metropolitan area is
the fourth largest in the state of Ohio. Dayton is
notable for being host to significant industrial, technical,
aerospace and research activities. In fact, it is the home to
the National Museum of the United States Air Force.
Dayton city was founded in April 1, 1796, and
became incorporated in 1805.
